Dr. Santosh N. Madrewar, is a renowned Pediatrician, Neonatologist and pediatric intensivist in Marathwada. Though he hailed from a small village in Latur District, and completed his studies with sparse facilities, his medical education was sponsored by JRD TATA Trust in Mumbai. Keeping his humble background in forefront he decided to to serve in this region of Marathwada where there is need and great opportunity to serve the poor and needy.
Dr. Madrewar initiated an integrated and innovative approach and designed an ethical, self-sustainable, compassionate, and scalable model of “Mother and Child health” with a tagline “Caring with Devotion”. He designed a training program of 3 months duration to BAMS and BHMS doctors. in mother and child health basics and emergency management, so that they could provide emergency and necessary help in remote parts of Marathwada region and maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity can be reduced. This will also help the applicant get helping hands for expanding the hospital as house officers in wards and level II care. Dr. Madrewar is also trying to establish a post graduate training institute for DCH & DNB to get opportunity to train doctors in ethical practice and make this model a scalable and sustainable one.
Dr. Madrewar has designed and successfully implemented clinical, administrative processes, HR policies and financial and marketing plans in the Hospital. He has a vision to take off as a group of “Nimai Hospitals (Center for Mother and Child Health)” as Level II and Level III hospitals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in Marathwada region and expanding gradually all over Maharashtra and then throughout India.
